 | This is our memorial to Uncle Burt and AuntieMarj. Summer holidays on the farm were more than just a vacation from the city but more a home away from home with Auntie Marj baking cookies in the kitchen and helping Uncle Burt with the typical farm chores. While Bill was out cleaning the chicken coop, gawd, there was a nasty job, at least I got to help Auntie Marj in the kitchen and work in her lovely rose garden. Even the roses seemed to respond to her tender care. North Dakota is no picnic under the best of circumstances, but Uncle Burt and Auntie Marj were of that old settler stock that made America all the better a place for us kids growning up. |
