Peter Henry King was born in a small town just outside of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Seeking to widen his horizons, Peter migrated to Denver, Colorado to attend university specializing in International Law. Upon completion, he was hired by an international law firm specializing in Canadian, US and South American jurisdiction relational law.

On an ordinary business flight from Denver to Ottawa, Ontario to meet with Prime Minister Jean Chretien to discuss foreign policy issues, his plane hit heavy turbulence and lost control.

He acheived distincton in his own right as a fair negotiator, circumventing many trade border disputes. In his spare time, Peter devoted his time to sailing. A family man, he is survived by his wife, Kim, their two children, Peter Jr. and Lisa, family and friends.
