Ron & Barb loved to sail. One of their favorite past-times was to attend sailing events in and around St. John's. It just so happened that a tall ship from California moored in the harbour for the day was taking on passengers for a six hour tour out on the Atlantic. Both eagerly jumped at the chance. While out on the ocean, a tremendous gale came up.

Coupled with fierce biting rain and thunder storms, their vessel was tossed about and ran aground on the shoreline. The boat was torn into pieces.
